Charitable giving by Americans rose 4.2% to almost $300 billion in 2006, setting a record for the third straight year. When I first read this headline, I thought that majority of donation must have come from foundations and corporations. I was wrong, $222 billion of that came from individuals, and 65% of individual giving came from homes with less than $100,000 in annual income!Now, I call this an inspiring, moving and touching news and great to be part of this charitable country.
